A Celebration of Food and Farming in an Idyllic Setting

Private Events and Farm Dinners on a Working Farm Estate

A True Farm Estate

Greenfields is the home of our sheep operation, Rip Van Winkle Farm. Our green fields are dotted with sheep, grazing peacefully. The large garden and small orchard provide plenty of produce in season, and the preserving and freezing we do stretches that produce to last throughout the year. During the winter, when the sheep are in the barn, the bedding pack created from housing them becomes fertilizer for the hay fields and the garden. Our small layer flock (farm-talk for chickens) provide eggs and also eat most of the kitchen scraps, reducing our food waste to practically zero. Anything leftover, the herding dogs - an unruly pack of Border Collies and German Shepherds - are happy to take care of.

Greenfields House itself was made for entertaining, with a 1400 square foot ballroom, a large dining room, and many beautiful outdoor spaces.

We would love to host your next important gathering at Greenfields House in New York’s picturesque Mohawk valley.
